May 15, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson talk with Coty M. Davis, Pistons’ beat writer for The Detroit News. They discuss the Pistons’ must-win Game Six against the Cavaliers and player injuries.
CLEVELAND, OHIO ~ If the 1-seed Detroit Pistons want their dream season to live on, they have no choice but to win Friday night at Rocket Arena against the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers to force an Eastern Conference semifinals Game 7 Sunday in Detroit.
After losing a heartbreaker on Wednesday at Little Caesars Arena in overtime of Game 5, Cleveland has the 3-2 advantage and has yet to lose on their home court this postseason.
Pistons’ sharpshooting forward Duncan Robinson missed Game 5 with a back injury and still remains questionable going into tonight’s contest. He did participate in a shootaround today along with Detroit guards Caris Levert and Kevin Huerter, who are both questionable as well.
The Pistons have had their backs against the wall like this before this season. After repeating history against the Orlando Magic with a 3-1 comeback this year, Detroit has a chance to do it again as the Pistons were able to pull off a 3-2 comeback against Cleveland in the same round in 2006.
Point guard Cade Cunningham will need to be on point down the stretch for the Pistons, as he has shown lapses in crucial moments so far this series. It can’t just be a one man show either, as forward Tobias Harris will need to shoot more efficiently than he did in Game 5.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video.
