April 21, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson talk with Jason Roe, a political strategist with Roe Strategic. They discuss the ongoing ceasefire and negotiations with Iran, and J.D. Vance’s role as lead negotiator.
IRAN ~ In a Truth Social post on Tuesday afternoon, United States President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. will hold off attacks on Iran until they present a unified proposal. As the original two-week ceasefire agreement was set to conclude on Wednesday, Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan requested the extension.
“I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other,” Trump said.
The news comes only a day after the U.S. captured an Iranian cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
Vice President JD Vance was to lead the delegation to Islamabad to try to reach an agreement with Iran but was put on hold by the White House. Trump repeated threats over the weekend that the U.S. would target civilian infrastructure in Iran, like power plants and bridges, if a deal wasn’t reached.
