IRAN ~ The Strait of Hormuz continues to be a flashpoint in the U.S. and Israel’s war on Iran, with the U.S. continuing its blockade and Iran’s military now claiming it’s under “strict control” by Iranian forces.
Iran’s military said in a statement on Saturday that the strait is being “returned to its previous state” until the U.S. ends its blockade of Iranian ports. There are reports of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards firing at a tanker in the strait.
Meanwhile there are reports that U.S. and Iranian delegations are set to hold negotiations on Monday on deal to potentially end the war although such a meeting has not been confirmed by the U.S.
Iran closed off the Strait after the U.S. and Israel began bombing the nation on Feb. 28, causing major disruptions and price volatility in the global oil trade.
