April 12, 2026 ~ The mission of HCRI-MI is to connect, resource, and inspire on behalf of children who are in foster care, at-risk, and/or have been trafficked. President and Executive Director Rhonda Trask serves as the Chairperson for the Community and Faith Advisory Initiative (Michigan Department of Health & Human Services), promoting partnerships within the community, business, and faith leaders, on behalf of the 12,000+ children in foster care with the State of Michigan.
This Women’s History Month, a Detroit-area nonprofit is gaining national recognition for addressing global childhood hunger while creating economic opportunity for women. Gina Gabel, a Grosse Pointe mom, and her co-founder, Priscilla Perry Heffelfinger, were just named to Inc. Magazine’s 2026 Female Founders 500 list for their work founding Michigan-based nonprofit Thrive.
