GUY GORDON
HOST
A seasoned broadcast journalist, Guy Gordon is celebrating more than 40 years as a reporter, anchor, and talk show host. He was recognized with two Emmy Awards for Best Anchor and six Emmy Awards for Best Writing, Reporting, and Documentary.
His work has also garnered numerous Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards for breaking news and investigative reporting.
Previously, Gordon was news anchor for WDIV Local 4 News in Detroit for nine years, following 13 years as anchor of Channel 7 Action News in Detroit.
He is an active community servant, raising more than $1.5 million for Oakland Family Services through his annual charity golf outing, the “Guy Gordon Classic for Kids.” In 2019, Guy became the host of the ITC Golf Classic for the March of Dimes. This event at Oak Pointe Country Club in Brighton raises nearly $200,000 per year.
LLOYD JACKSON
HOST
Lloyd Jackson describes himself as “just a regular guy,” but most people would probably disagree. Jackson, who began his career at 760 WJR in 1993 as the city/county beat reporter and is now assistant news director, says he loves the fact that radio is “fast and now,” but dislikes the objectivity that the job requires. “I usually have an opinion about stories, but being a journalist, I have to remain neutral.”
Lloyd has won numerous awards while at 760 WJR, including honors from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, Associated Press, and the Society of Professional Journalists. He has also been the host of many special-interest shows on 760 WJR, such as “Ask the Mayor,“ “Ask the Governor,” and “Ask the Chief.”
Jackson adds, “It’s a great honor to work with the professionals in the WJR newsroom that make my job an interesting and fulfilling endeavor.”
JAMIE EDMONDS
HOST
Jamie Edmonds is a co-host of “‘JR Morning with Guy Gordon, Jamie Edmonds, and Lloyd Jackson” on 760 WJR alongside Guy Gordon and Lloyd Jackson. She also anchors sports coverage on Local 4, and is an Emmy-nominated reporter who works on sports and news stories weekly.
Jamie is a graduate of the University of Delaware where she and her figure skating team won a national title in 2002. Jamie then went on to receive a graduate degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Her nearly 15 years in broadcasting includes two Michigan Association of Broadcasters “Best Sportscast” awards. She’s also been nominated twice for Michigan Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
NICK RODDY
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Nick Roddy is the executive producer of “The Guy Gordon Show,” heard weekdays at 760 WJR from 3 to 5 p.m. Nick previously served as the executive producer and network coordinator of the Detroit Lions Radio Network, and oversaw all Detroit Lions programming on 760 WJR.
Nick was an intern with “The Paul W. Smith Show” in 2010, graduated from Michigan State University with degrees in international relations and journalism in 2012, and began his radio career at 1130 AM WDFN The Fan following graduation.
Nick is also a high school basketball coach, coaching the freshman team at Bloomfield Hills High School.
RENEE VITALE
TRAFFIC AND WEATHER
Renee Vitale is a native of Southeast Detroit and has spent 24 of her 25 years in radio on Detroit airwaves. Many of those years have been spent co-hosting morning drive radio on stations, such as WNIC and WDRQ. For 15 years, she worked in various roles at the Specs Howard School of Media Arts, including serving as the director of admissions.
In her spare time, Renee loves to read, cook, try out new restaurants, garden, and go boating on Lake St. Clair. She recently got married to her husband, David.
