April 30, 2026 ~ WJR’s Marie Osborne shares her exclusive interview with Jeopardy! star Jamie Ding, reflecting on his historic run, the moment it ended, and what’s next for the fan favorite.
GROSSE POINTE, MI ~ Jamie Ding, the metro Detroit native behind one of Jeopardy!’s longest winning streaks, said the experience was about far more than trivia.
Speaking with WJR’s Marie Osborne, Ding reflected on his 31‑game run and the connection it created with viewers nationwide.
“I kept hearing how it was bringing people together,” Ding said. “People told me it was nice to have something positive to put on the TV every night, and that really meant a lot to me.”
Ding, a Grosse Pointe North High School graduate, saw his streak end April 27 after 31 consecutive wins and more than $880,000 in earnings. His performance ranks fifth all-time in both consecutive victories and regular‑season winnings, placing him among the most successful contestants in the show’s six‑decade history and just one game shy of surpassing James Holzhauer’s 32‑game run.
