PLYMOUTH, MA ~ A jury is scheduled to return to Plymouth Superior Court at 9 a.m. Friday for a seventh day of deliberations in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman charged in the 2023 deaths of her three young children. Jurors have twice told the court they are unable to reach a unanimous verdict, leaving the case at a critical stage as deliberations continue.
The latest development came Thursday when the jury foreperson informed Judge William Sullivan that one juror was allegedly not following the court’s instructions regarding reasonable doubt. The judge individually questioned jurors in private, declined a defense request to remove the juror, and reread instructions on reasonable doubt before sending the panel back to continue deliberating.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty, and jurors are weighing whether she was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children in January 2023. The defense argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors contended she understood and planned her actions.
