DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Dylan Larkin trade saga has reached a boiling point. The former Detroit Red Wings captain has been suspended without pay by the team and will not appear in games while trade discussions continue.
Larkin’s agent, Pat Brisson, posted on X, saying, “Dylan’s had enough of the situation. We believe he’s been very professional and cooperative through this process.”
Larkin, a University of Michigan product who has been the team’s top center for more than a decade, requested a trade shortly after the season and recently expanded the list of teams he would waive his no-trade clause to join.
While multiple teams are reportedly pursuing Larkin, Detroit has continued to hold out for a stronger return, citing his production of 30 or more goals in each of the past five seasons and a team-friendly contract that carries an average annual value of $8.7 million through the next five years.
