DETROIT, MICH. ~ A second half offensive surge helped the Detroit Lions keep their undefeated record this season at Ford Field alive in a 19-15 win over the previously unbeaten Minnesota Vikings Sunday afternoon.
It was a game of emotional swings as Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was taken to a hospital after suffering a horrific neck injury. Detroit responded for Campbell in a big way, getting a fourth down stop immediately after the fact. After a Lions three and out and a Vikings score, the Detroit offense got the ball back and ran it all the way down the field, capping the late fourth-quarter drive with the go-ahead touchdown to wide receiver Jameson Williams.
Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs carried the load once again for the offense, recording a game-high 168 total yards, including a 30-yard touchdown near the end of the third quarter.
Detroit will be back in action next Sunday for a road game against the Miami Dolphins at 1 p.m.
