DETROIT, MICH. ~ Unwanted phone calls are declining five years after a crackdown on robocalls, but scammers are still finding ways to make money off of people.
According to the Detroit Free Press, scam call victims lost an average of $3,973 in the first half of 2026.
The best defense against these scammers is to simply not pick up the phone for unknown callers, or share personal information with them.
