DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Red Wings’ future got a bit more clear on Wednesday morning as they announced the contract extension of forward Alex DeBrincat. The seven-year deal has an annual value of $13 million.
The Farmington Hills native DeBrincat has been a goal-scoring machine since he joined the franchise in July 2023. Last year, he tallied 41 goals to go with 44 assists. He already has four scores to start off this season.
While the team is still maneuvering through extension talks with defenseman Simon Edvinsson, a trade request from former captain Dylan Larkin, and a search for a permanent General Manager, DeBrincat’s return signals the beginning of a new era for Hockeytown.
