CANTON, Mich. ~ A pair of incidents involving children and firearms in Canton has left many parents searching for answers. A 1-year-old is recovering after being struck by gunfire inside a mobile home, while a separate case involving a toddler who allegedly brought a loaded handgun into a daycare has renewed concerns about children’s access to firearms.
As investigators continue gathering information, the incidents have sparked conversations about gun safety and the importance of secure firearm storage. Community members say the fact that no children were injured in the daycare case was fortunate, but both situations serve as reminders of the risks associated with unsecured weapons.
