
DETROIT ~ Michigan State Athletics and WJR 760 AM have agreed to a five-year extension that will keep WJR as the Detroit flagship station of the Spartan Media Network through the 2030-31 season. The renewed agreement expands the partnership beyond football and men’s basketball to include coverage of Michigan State hockey and women’s basketball.
“It’s a great day to be a Spartan,” Fitzgerald said this morning on 760 WJR during a segment announcing the partnership. “The expanded coverage is exciting because it gives more people an opportunity to follow and support all of our programs.”

(CONTINUED) In addition to adding broadcasts of Michigan State women’s basketball and hockey, the new agreement calls for digital pre-game show coverage on home football game days, weekly installments of The Pat Fitzgerald Show during football season, and future alumni-focused programming to be announced at a later date.

The extended agreement will debut with coverage of Michigan State’s season opener against Toledo on Friday. Coverage begins at 5 p.m. on WJR with the MSU Tailgate Show, followed by the Spartan Media Network pregame broadcast leading into the 8 p.m. kickoff at Spartan Stadium.
