DEARBORN ~ The Ford Motor Co. unveiled new exhibits and spaces Monday, including a new gift shop open to the public, at its new World Headquarters campus.
The headquarters’ Ford Store, which faces Oakwood Boulevard, offers merchandise representing iconic brands such as Bronco, Mustang, F-150 and Ford Racing, alongside exclusive collaborations with brands such as Filson, Carhartt and Oracle Red Bull Racing. Apparel, collectibles, gifts, LEGO sets, drinkware and lifestyle products are on offer at the store.
Alongside the new store, the company also opened a Ford Racing exhibit, which highlights the company’s 125-year history in the motorsports industry and its role in developing technologies that eventually make their way into production vehicles. The Lincoln Heritage Lounge also opened, featuring rare artifacts and documents that trace the luxury brand’s history and transformation, with a 1940 Lincoln-Zephyr Continental Cabriolet as the space’s centerpiece. Finally, a new, rotating historical archives display, called the Ford Heritage Vault, will allow the company to share snippets of its history, with Ford’s evolution of electric vehicle technology on display during the opening.
“(I’m) excited to have the space and to have a storytelling canvas that we can craft our narrative around,” said Ford Archives and Heritage Brand Manager Ted Ryan.
Ford’s Global headquarters campus opened late last year, with the company expecting more than 90% of its global office employees to work in new or renovated spaces by the end of 2027.
These new spaces are part of the company’s efforts to make its headquarters a destination for employees, customers and the broader community.
“It’s to show what the brand has accomplished, but it’s also about making sure we’re sharing with employees why we race,” said Jeannee Kirklaldy, global marketing manager for Ford Racing. “We race to make our cars better. There’s a lot of tech transfer, a lot of technology advancements that we learn from going and racing, and sometimes we bring back what we learn in racing. It comes back to the production cars, and we also take production car practices and apply it to racing as well, so it’s important for our employees to know and understand that.“
The store is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and closed on the weekend. However, the other spaces and exhibits will not be open to the public, aside from possible special events.
