DETROIT ~ Detroit is set to celebrate Juneteenth this holiday weekend with multiple events and festivals across the city.
One of the biggest events will be the Hart of Detroit Summer Festival from noon to midnight June 19 at Hart Plaza, featuring dozens of musical performances, food and business vendors, live art paintings, and gospel karaoke.
Another notable event is the 2026 Freedom Festival: A Juneteenth Celebration at the Joy and Spinoza Green Space in Rouge Park. Taking place 12-4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, the event will be a “celebration of Black culture, Black history, Black resistance, Black art, and Black community.“
