CLINTON TOWNSHIP ~ U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a visit to Michigan on Wednesday, touting new funding to help homeless people with mental illnesses and addictions.
Kenneday spoke at the Clinton Township office of Easterseals MORC’s, a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities, announcing $700 million for behavioral health and addiction recovery services. The funding will be given to the Safety Through Recovery, Engagement, and Evidence-based Treatment and Support (STREETS) program, behavioral health clinics, and the federal 988 & Suicide Crisis Lifeline.
“Every person deserves the opportunity to reclaim their health or relationships and rebuild their lives,” Kennedy said.
