
MICHIGAN ~ Until 8 p.m. Wednesday, National Weather Service officials issued a heat advisory for Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties as temperatures reached the lower 90s.
There is also a chance that Southeast Michigan will see more storms Wednesday night, according to the NWS, after severe storms rolled through several counties Tuesday, with two confirmed tornadoes touching down further up the state.
An EF-1 touched down early afternoon near the Saginaw County town of Freeland, damaging about 40 homes in the area. A weaker tornado was also confirmed in Genesee County, though damage from the twister was reported.
Southeast Michigan saw multiple tornado warnings, though none were confirmed to have touched down. Detroit Metro Airport was grounded for multiple hours in the afternoon and evening.
