April 29, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson talk with Royal Watcher Kristen Meisner. They discuss King Charles III’s historic address to Congress seeking bipartisan support and subtly push back on the president.
NEW YORK CITY ~ King Charles III and Queen Camilla will visit the 9/11 Memorial on Wednesday as part of their visit to New York City.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other officials will be there for the ceremony, with the king visiting Harlem after the ceremony finishes. The New York visit follows a state dinner with President Donald Trump that saw the leader make political claims during the meal.
During a state dinner on Tuesday at the White House, Trump made a speech where he mentioned the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, saying that the U.S. will never let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Statements that Iran is imminently developing nuclear weapons go back decades, and was one stated reason for the Iran War.
“Charles agrees with me even more than I do – we’re never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. King Charles did not mention the war during his speech.
The visit comes amid strained relations between the U.S. and the U.K., with Trump attacking the U.K. leadership over its opposition to participating in the Iran War that began two months ago.
