DETROIT, MICH. ~ On the brink of elimination, the top seeded Detroit Pistons dug deep for a 116-109 win over the eight seed Orlando Magic Wednesday night at Little Caesars Arena. The series now stands at 3-2 in favor of the Magic.
It was a battle between Detroit point guard Cade Cunningham and Orlando forward Paolo Banchero. Cunningham recorded 46 points, while Banchero tallied 45 in a losing effort. Forward Tobias Harris picked up the offensive slack for the rest of the Pistons, notching 23 points on 50% shooting.
On the defensive side, Detroit forward Ausar Thompson was everywhere, recording 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks.
Detroit controlled the game from start to finish as the Magic struggled without forward and former Michigan star Franz Wagner who was ruled out of tonight’s game with a right calf strain.
The Pistons will be back at the Kia Center in Orlando Friday night for a make-or-break Game 6.
