DETROIT, MICH. ~ 18 years in the making, the top seeded Detroit Pistons finally broke the longest home postseason losing streak in NBA playoff history with a 98-83 victory over the eight seed Orlando Magic Wednesday night at Little Caesars Arena. With the win, the Pistons officially became the first home team to ever bring playoff success to LCA.
The game was tied going into halftime, but Detroit broke it open with a 38-16 third quarter. Point guard Cade Cunningham was on point once again, scoring 27 points and dishing out 11 assists. Forward Tobias Harris also had a bounce back game, scoring 16 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.
“The playoffs are about being assertive and aggressive, but also taking what the game gives you,” Harris said after the win.
The Pistons will head to Orlando for Game 3 on Saturday. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. at the Kia Center.
