WASHINGTON, D.C. ~ After United States President Donald Trump set an 8 p.m. deadline in which he claimed on Truth Social that “a whole civilization would die tonight,” Trump announced at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening that the U.S. reached a two-week ceasefire with Iran. Trump credited leaders in Pakistan for their help in reaching a ceasefire. The deal rests on the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has been blocking, causing global instability.
