DETROIT, April 18, 2024 ~ Physicians at Ascension St. John Emergency Department in Detroit started a 24-hour strike Thursday afternoon after negotiations with their employer, TeamHealth, broke down. The staffers contracted with the Greater Detroit Association of Emergency Physicians are asking for more staff and better working conditions, which the union said have declined since TeamHealth took over in 2015.
