Detroit Tigers Gear Up for Opening Day Friday

DETROIT, April 3, 2024 ~ The Detroit Tigers head into their first home game of the season 4-0 Friday for the team’s 2024 Opening Day.

A capacity crowd will attend the game at 1:10 p.m., April 5, at Comerica Park where the Tigers will face off against the Oakland Athletics. Fans will get to experience a new video board and sound system.

(CONTINUED) Only standing-room tickets remain to purchase for Opening Day. All gates to Comerica Park open at 10:30 a.m., with live music, photo opportunities, and the Detroit Tigers Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle greeting fans as they enter the concourse.

Grace West, a Canton, Michigan native who earned a spot in the finale of “The Voice” in 2023, will perform the National Anthem on Opening Day. The 2024 Tigers Opening Day Tailgate Party will take place from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Grand Circus Park, where fans can enjoy beer, DJs, food trucks, photo opportunities, giveaways, baseball-themed games, and activities.

Throughout Opening Day, 760 WJR will provide live coverage, starting with “JR Morning with Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds” and “All Talk with Jordan and Dietz” from The Stalter. Then, live from Huntington’s Commercial Headquarters at the Detroit Tower, “Focus with Paul W. Smith,” will air, featuring guest host Anthony Bellino. Game day will cap off with “JR Afternoon with Chris Renwick.”
