DETROIT, March 7, 2024 ~ Unionized emergency workers at Detroit‘s Ascension St. John Hospital are considering organizing after months of negotiations with the hospital’s management company.

The ER workers joined the Greater Detroit Association of Emergency Physicians last year, and have claimed wages and staffing levels have declined at the hospital for nearly a decade after TeamHealth took over management duties, causing patient wait times to increase. Spokespeople with both TeamHealth and the union said they have negotiated in good faith.
