OAKLAND COUNTY, MI, Jan. 4, 2023 ~ Jennifer Crumbley, mother of Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley, is requesting the court to not allow testimony from three witnesses of her son’s shooting, claiming their testimonies are “irrelevant” to her case.

The request filed earlier in the week claims the factual evidence of the testimonies would be, “So devastating, gruesome, and appalling that its admission would certainly inflame the passions of a jury,” with Jennifer Crumbley’s lawyer arguing that the case focuses on what happened before the shooting and not what happened during it. The witnesses include a teacher who was shot by Ethan Crumbley, an assistant principal, and a student who was trapped in a bathroom with the shooter.

Both of the shooter’s parents will start separate trials Jan. 23 for charges of involuntary manslaughter of the four students killed by their son during the 2021 shooting that also injured seven students and staff.
