OXFORD, MI, Oct. 31, 2023 ~ Independent investigators concluded in a 572-page report that “individuals at every level” at Oxford Community Schools could have prevented the school shooting that took place on Nov. 30, 2021 at Oxford High School that left four students dead and six people injured, had administrators followed threat assessment protocol.

The report, conducted by Guidepost Solutions, said many administrators, including former Superintendent Timothy Throne, “failed to provide a safe and secure environment” for students at OHS. The report also focused on the actions of Shawn Hopkins, the counselor for the shooter Ethan Crumbley, and Dean of Students Nick Ejak who were made aware of suicidal behavior from Crumbley on Nov. 29 and 30, but did not perform a threat assessment or alert the principal.
