Vehicle drivers can put the pedal to the metal a little harder in Michigan. A package of five bills, increasing speed limits on most rural highways, has passed the House Transportation Committee with bi-partisan support. The passage means speed limits may be increased on open stretches of road to 75 or 80 m.p.h.
