St. Francis Nursing Home resident found in dumpster

Detroit Police are looking into the death of an elderly man whose body was found in a large dumpster. The body of 73-year-old Ralph Ford was found underneath a pile of clothes in a large dumpster behind the Saint Francis Nursing Center on Cadillac Boulevard in Detroit where he lived. His body was discovered last Monday, but he wasn’t reported missing from the nursing home until later that day. An autopsy determined that Ford died of natural causes. In addition to the Detroit Police Department investigation, a separate probe is underway with investigators from the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
