MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. ~ The Detroit Lions continued their strong season Sunday, defeating the Miami Dolphins 19-9 on the road to improve to 6-2 and strengthen their position in the NFC playoff race. It was not the highest-scoring game of the season, but Detroit relied on a balanced effort and a strong defensive performance to secure the victory.

Quarterback Jared Goff managed the offense efficiently as the Lions capitalized on scoring opportunities and controlled the pace of the game.
The Lions defense was equally impressive, holding the Dolphins to nine points and keeping them out of the end zone all afternoon. Detroit has now won six of its first eight games and will look to keep its momentum going next week against the New England Patriots in Munich.
