DETROIT ~ After years of advocating for auto workers and supporting President Donald Trump on the campaign trail, Brian Pannebecker is stepping into a new role in Washington. The longtime Ford worker and founder of Auto Workers for Trump said he was recently named special envoy to auto workers within the U.S. Department of Transportation, giving him an opportunity to connect directly with workers across the industry.
Pannebecker said he hopes to help auto workers better understand how the administration’s policies affect the domestic auto industry and manufacturing jobs. The Macomb County retiree described the appointment as an unexpected opportunity and said he plans to serve as a voice for workers while splitting time between Metro Detroit and Washington.
