
DETROIT, MICH. ~ Mike Ditka, legendary former coach of the Chicago Bears, passed away Friday at age 86. The cause of not was not immediately announced.
Ditka won Super Bowl VI with the Dallas Cowboys as a player and coached Chicago to a Super Bowl XX victory. He was the first tight end to ever be named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and is one of only two players in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player, an assistant coach, and a head coach.
