GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. ~ Michigan’s race for governor took center stage Tuesday night as Jocelyn Benson and John James met in Grand Rapids for a closely watched debate ahead of the November election. The candidates discussed a range of issues facing the state, including the economy, education, energy policy and data center development, while offering voters different perspectives on Michigan’s future.
Following the debate, James emphasized issues he said are top priorities for Michigan residents, including affordability, job growth and local control. He also stressed the importance of giving communities a stronger voice in decisions surrounding data center projects while continuing to attract investment and economic opportunities to the state.
