GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. ~ Michigan’s race for governor took center stage Tuesday night as Jocelyn Benson and John James met for a closely watched debate in Grand Rapids. The candidates outlined different visions for Michigan’s future while discussing issues including the economy, affordability and the role of government in addressing everyday challenges.
Throughout the debate, Benson and James challenged each other’s records and proposals as they made their case to voters ahead of the November election. The event gave Michiganders an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates as the campaign enters its final weeks.
