Leaders from OpenAI, Google, Meta, Nvidia and Anthropic participated in the meeting, which focused on balancing innovation with concerns about AI’s growing capabilities.
For businesses, policymakers and consumers, the discussion highlighted AI’s increasing influence on daily life and the economy. While the agreement is not legally binding, supporters say it is a step toward greater accountability as lawmakers continue debating how the rapidly evolving technology should be governed.
