Thousands Gather as Fulton Sheen Is Beatified

ST. LOUIS ~ Thousands of Catholics gathered Thursday in St. Louis as Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, one of the most prominent Catholic leaders in American history, was beatified by the Catholic Church. The milestone moves Sheen one step closer to sainthood and recognizes a legacy that reached millions through radio, television and decades of ministry. 

For many attending the ceremony, the event was both a celebration of faith and a tribute to Sheen’s enduring influence. Church leaders said his example continues to inspire people seeking new ways to share their faith in a changing world.
