DETROIT ~ Devon Jason Watson, a 42-year-old Detroit resident, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Jaquoya Wix, a 34-year-old Detroit mother and restaurant worker. Police have said Watson was suffering from mental health issues at the time of the attack, according to published reports.
For Wix’s family and friends, the latest developments come as they continue to mourn her loss and seek justice. The fatal stabbing has also renewed conversations about public safety in downtown Detroit.
