LANSING, Mich. ~ Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed says Michigan voters are focused on kitchen-table issues such as rising grocery costs, gas prices and access to health care as the 2026 campaign heads into its final stretch. He argued that families across the state are more concerned about making ends meet than the political attacks and distractions dominating the national conversation.
El-Sayed also pointed to his primary election victory as evidence that voters want candidates to focus on affordability and health care rather than outside spending and partisan rhetoric. He said his campaign will continue emphasizing economic concerns and policies aimed at helping working families throughout Michigan.
“I want to talk about why you can’t afford your gas, why you can’t afford your groceries, why you can’t see a doctor,” El-Sayed said. “I want to talk about the issues Michiganders face, and I’m going to keep talking about that up and down the state.”
