Previewing the 45th Annual Sweetest Heart of Mary Pierogi Festival

August 6, 2026 ~ Brian McClory, co-chair of Sweetest Heart of Mary Pierogi Festival, previews the 45th annual Pierogi festival this weekend.

DETROIT, MICH. ~ To celebrate Polish heritage, the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church is hosting the 45th annual Pierogi Festival this weekend.

The event, which is happening just north of Eastern Market, will kick off Friday night with live music in the beer tent, followed by a Polka Mass on Saturday, and a Holy Mass Sunday.

The free ceremony will feature thousands of handmade pierogis, specialty vendors, and a 50/50 raffle.
