GROSSE POINTE ~ The Lomas Brown Jr. Golf Classic returned to the Country Club of Detroit today, bringing together community leaders, business partners, and notable figures from Detroit’s sports community to support youth development initiatives across Southeast Michigan.
Guests included Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, former Detroit Lions Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Porcher, former NFL running back Earnest Byner, Detroit Lions Radio Play-By-Play Announcer Dan Miller, and WJR sports host and Detroit Lions in-game host Anthony Bellino. Presented by WJR 760-AM and sponsored by Ford Motor Company, the event benefits the Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation and its programs serving young people throughout the region.

July 13, 2026 ~ Lomas Brown Jr., Detroit Lions Legend, co-host of “Sports Wrap with Lomas Brown and Anthony Bellino” weeknights at 6, color analyst for the Detroit Lions Radio Network joins Paul W. to kick off the Lomas Brown Jr Golf Classic.
(CONTINUED) The tournament follows a successful inaugural event in 2025 that raised more than $268,000 for programs serving Detroit-area youth and families. Tournament namesake Lomas Brown said the event reflects the community’s shared commitment to investing in future generations. “This year is especially meaningful to me,” said the former Detroit Lions offensive tackle. “As I take the lead in hosting this event, my focus remains on creating opportunities for young people and bringing our community together to invest in the next generation.”
Established in 1991, the Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation provides academic support, scholarships, career-readiness opportunities, leadership development, technology education, and health and wellness programming for children and young adults throughout Southeast Michigan.
