PHILADELPHA, PA. ~ Detroit Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler, shortstop Kevin McGonigle, and left fielder Riley Greene will play as reserves in the 2026 MLB All-Star game for the American League All-Star team on Tuesday, July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
This will be Greene’s third all-star appearance while Dingler and McGonigle will both be making their AL debuts. Greene is hitting .289 with 13 home runs and 44 runs batted in. In his first year in Detroit, McGonigle, who is from the suburbs of Philadelphia, has posted an above average WAR at 4.9, while slashing .287/.398/.821. Dingler has notched one of the best seasons out of all of the catchers in the MLB in 2026, leading the Tigers with 19 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 19 doubles.
The team’s All-Star break is set to begin on Monday, July 13, and will last until Friday, July 17.
