June 18, 2026 ~ Pistons’ President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon speaks to the media prior to next week’s NBA Draft.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ Prior to the 2026 NBA Draft, which will kick off on Tuesday, June 23, Detroit Pistons’ President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon shared his thoughts on how the roster could improve by adding the 21st pick to the fold.
“It’s probably hard to find a good shooter at 21. Usually they don’t get there, but maybe we can add playmaking there,” Langdon said Thursday afternoon. “But I think for us it will be about who’s the best player there. Does that player fit this environment? Does it fit our identity?”
Langdon expressed that the team will most likely not trade back or get out of the first round but could potentially move up if the need is there.
If Detroit decides to stay at 21, a player like Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz would fit Langdon’s mold. Stirtz has the ability to be a playmaker with a strong framework to turn into a reliable three-point threat. If the Pistons want to add more size, Santa Clara forward Allen Graves would bring rebounding and spacing.
The draft will begin at 8 p.m. from the Barclays Center.
