WASHINGTON D.C. ~ President Donald Trump has dropped his proposed “anti-weaponization fund” on Monday after the controversial proposal saw widespread anger, even amongst his own party members.
The fund was set up by Trump under the Justice Department, which would have allocated $1.776 for victims of “lawfare.” This fund was part of a settlement of a lawsuit from Trump against the Internal Revenue Service.
This fund proposal prompted bipartisan backlash over concerns that the settlement will benefit Trump’s political allies, particularly those who participated in the Jan. 6 riot in 2021. The pull-back of the funds has been been comunicated publically, but was directed towards Congressional Republicans.
