WASHINGTON, D.C. ~ Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation from her position on social media Friday afternoon due to her husband Abraham’s rare bone cancer diagnosis.
“Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” Gabbard posted. “I am fully committed to ensuring a smooth and thorough transition over the coming weeks so that you and your team experience no disruption in leadership or momentum.”
Trump praised Gabbard in a social media post of his own, while simultaneously announcing that, “Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Aaron Lukas, will serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence.”
