DETROIT ~ The Detroit Lions have signed linebacker Jack Campbell to a four-year, $81 million contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2030 season. The deal includes $51 million guaranteed, reinforcing the organization’s long-term commitment to one of the anchors of its defense. Campbell, the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Iowa, has quickly emerged as a key figure in Detroit’s front seven.

(CONTINUED) In three seasons, Campbell has appeared in 51 games with 46 starts, compiling 380 tackles, including 200 solo stops. He has also recorded 19 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, 10 pass breakups, and 8.5 sacks, while contributing across phases with 22 special teams tackles. His consistency has placed him among franchise standouts, he became just the fourth player in team history to record at least 125 tackles in consecutive seasons.
Campbell elevated his performance to another level in 2025, earning first-team All-Pro honors from The Associated Press and his first Pro Bowl selection. He totaled 166 tackles, the second-most in a season by a Lions player since 1987, and made NFL history by becoming the first player to record at least 155 defensive tackles and 10 special teams tackles in a single season. With his extension now in place, Campbell is positioned to remain a central piece of Detroit’s defense moving forward.
