May 6, 2026 ~ Detroit Pistons’ forward Ron Holland talks to the media after Wednesday’s practice following a Game 1 Eastern Conference semifinals win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ The 1-seed Detroit Pistons started off Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals strong, and ended the same way in a 111-101 win over the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers at Little Caesars Arena Tuesday night.
The Pistons gained a 16-point lead at the end of the first quarter and maintained the lead throughout, breaking away in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Detroit guard Cade Cunningham once again led the way with 23 points, while forwards Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson followed with 20 and 19 respectively.
All-Star center Jalen Duren added a 11-point, 12 rebound double double for Detroit as the 22-year-old continues to gain confidence throughout the playoffs. Cleveland’s James Harden had trouble with the Pistons’ defense for most of the game, going 6-15 from the field with seven turnovers.
Backup point guard Daniss Jenkins provided a key spark to the bench unit for Detroit, posting 12 points while getting active down low, grabbing seven rebounds to complement his scoring.
