May 4, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson speak with Senate hopeful Mike Rogers. Rogers discusses recruiting retired police officers as poll watchers and voter integrity concerns.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ As election season continues to escalate, Senate hopeful Mike Rogers wants to make sure that every vote is correctly accounted for. He is pushing to see former police officers and others patrolling polling stations in Detroit to limit fraud.
“We would love retired police officers. We’d love teachers. We’d love construction workers. We’d love plumbers to volunteer, to be a part of making sure that our elections are free and fair,” Rogers said on All Talk. “We want it to be easier to vote and harder to cheat.”
Rogers has been met with criticism for this idea as it could create issues for people of color, but he believes that their worries of intimidation have nothing to do with securing accurate voting numbers.
The 2026 United States Senate election will take place on Tuesday Nov. 3.
