DETROIT, MICH. ~ After trading leads throughout the game, Detroit Tigers’ first baseman Spencer Torkelson put a stamp on Thursday afternoon’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, slapping a walk off home run in a 5-4 win at Comerica Park.
With the victory, Detroit takes the series over Milwaukee 2-1 to move to a 14-12 record in 2026. Pinch hitter Jahmai Jones also came up big, tying the contest in the 8th inning with a solo home run. Left fielder Riley Greene hit the only other home run of the game for the Tigers in the first frame, scoring two runs in the process.
Starting pitcher Tarik Skubal didn’t have his best day on the mound, allowing four runs in six innings. Reliever Brant Hurter recorded the win in the ninth.
Detroit will head to Cincinnati for a three-game series with the Reds starting Friday night. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. Starting pitcher Framber Valdez is expected to take the bump for the Tigers tomorrow.
