IT specialists are warning about how fast-advancing AI technology is being used by hackers to better access the computer systems of businesses and organizations.
“What it’s doing really is just allowing the less sophisticated hackers to present pretty solid, advanced attacks,” Awecomm CEO Brent Yax told WJR. “So, it means that there are way more people now that are getting into the mix (who) are able to actually get into some of these organizations.”
However, he suggests that AI can also be used to defend from these attacks.
“Hackers seem to have an advantage because they’re the ones who jump on these tools right away,” Yax said. “But over time, the defenders tend to win out, so that’s what we’re hoping for. It’s just still early.”
