IRAN ~ The nations of Iran and the U.S. are currently looking over a 45-day ceasefire proposal delivered by mediators for the war started by the U.S. and Israel six weeks ago.
The plan was drafted by Pakistan and delivered to the U.S and Iran on Sunday, with the latter saying that a response has been “formulated” to the proposal. This comes following a threat from president Doanld Trump made over the weekend that Iran would “face hell” if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened by Tuesday, which Iran closed in retaliation for the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes that began Feb. 28.
Iran also rejected a 15-point peace plan earlier proposed by the U.S., with Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei calling it “extremely excessive.”
So far, over 2,076 people in Iran have been killed by the U.S. and Israel, according to Iran’s Health Ministry. Over 1,460 people have been killed by Israel during the country’s military campaign in Lebanon. Iran’s retaliatory strikes have killed dozens across the Middle East, including Israel, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, and Iraq.
