March 26, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick, Jamie Edmonds, and Lloyd Jackson talk to Austin Gellett, a former Navy intel officer. They discuss Iran’s strategic control of the Strait of Hormuz and potential U.S. responses.
IRAN ~ On Wednesday, Iranian officials rejected a 15-point ceasefire proposal from the U.S., instead providing a counterproposal to end the hostilities that began over a month ago.
The proposal was delivered to Iran via Pakistan, with demands including Iran rolling back its nuclear program, limiting its missile use, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with the major trade route closed by Iran to its enemies since the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes on the nation on Feb. 28. An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that the proposal was “extremely maximalist and unreasonable,” with officials reitorating that direct talks have not been held with the U.S. as President Donald Trump claimed earlier this week, only through mediators. Trump later wrote on social media that Iran needs to “get serious soon” with negotiating.
As of Thursday, the death toll in Iran stands at 1,937, with Israeli military incursions in Lebanon killing about 1,100. So far, 13 U.S. troops have been reported killed in the region.
